Diane Bishop Obituary

Diane Echols Bishop, age 71, of Ford, VA passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, February 25, 2024. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, John Wayne “Mule” Bishop; three children, Jamie Bishop (Tracey Moss) of Jarratt, VA, Shane Bishop (Dawn) of Dinwiddie, Cory Bishop (Whitney) of Dinwiddie; three grandchildren, Tatum, Blaine and Palmer Bishop; sister, Donna Chambers (Robert) of Amelia; and uncle, Mack Echols (Agnes) of Ford, VA; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Diane was preceded in death by her father, Ernest “Bubba” Echols and mother, Nancy Lewis, cousin, Dick Jr. Bossieau and her close friend, Diane Wright.

She was a longtime clerk of Baltimore Corner Store and retired as a school bus driver with Dinwiddie Co. Public Schools. Diane was very fond of her horse, “Tony The Pony”, softball, Salem cigarettes, Pepsi Cola, fishing and dearly loved her family.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Hawkins Memorial Presbyterian Church, 7816 White Oak Rd., Ford, VA 23850. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hawkins Memorial Presbyterian Church, Cemetery Fund, c/o Mrs. Sylvia Reed, 12915 Ruth Hill Rd., Church Road, VA 23833.
